About Us

Park County Construction

Our Leadership:

Park County Construction's story began with its founder and a love for transforming homes. Aaron's construction journey kicked off during his teenage years, as he worked alongside his mother flipping houses in the early 1990's. Aaron worked his way through college by overseeing construction projects across the Front Range of Colorado for a large commercial outfit well known for integrity and quality. Following the completion of his own home in Park County, which he built alone, Aaron realized his true calling lay in assisting individuals in navigating the complexities of construction in Colorado mountains.

Park County Construction's Approach:

Our client-centric philosophy revolves around customizing contracts to suit the size and scope of each project. We acknowledge that every project is distinct, understanding that the needs of a small, budding family might differ from those of the owner of a second home with ambitious plans and substantial resources. We routinely manage various contract types, such as Lump Sum (fixed price), Time and Materials (T&M), Unit Price, Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), and Cost-Plus.

To streamline the process, a 50% down payment is typically required, covering material costs before the project officially commences.

Early Years

Flipping Houses with Mom

Aaron's journey in construction began early, working alongside his mother 'flipping' houses for extra income. Throughout his life, he consistently relied on his construction background to assist friends and family, drawing from the experience gained working alongside skilled craftspeople in the trades. In college, he supplemented his income during challenging times and continued to do so in later years, even when circumstances were favorable, by undertaking different home remodels and minor construction projects. Aaron's enduring passion remained focused on bathroom and kitchen remodels.

Colorado Housing Boom

"Mansplaining" Denounced

Originating from Colorado, Aaron and his partner Kari made Park County their permanent residence when they purchased an 'unbuildable' hillside and built their dream home. In the early days of the project, Aaron and Kari looked to local trades support. Frustrated with 18 months of false promises on start dates and contractor delays blamed on "Mountain Time," Aaron took charge of constructing their home from the ground up (literally from excavating an 800' driveway to framing the home and everything in between).

To deal with the constant "mansplaining," Aaron finally took matters into his own hands. He dusted off his IRC Residential Code book from his construction project management years, put on his tool belt, and assumed leadership of the home buildout. Outside of a few minor complication, one being an HOA regulations that needed to be bypassed in order to keep their  Airstream on-site throughout the project, Aaron needed to designate it a "Construction Trailer." which meant applying for a small business with the Colorado Secretary of State and tackling the daunting General Contractor's Exam.

Career Path

Putting down the Hammer

After earning his undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aaron wrapped up his ongoing commercial and residential construction projects. He then embarked on an overseas journey, joining a commercial air cargo firm and traversing the globe. During one of these flights, life presented an unexpected shift, guiding Aaron into the field of commercial agriculture with one of the world's largest certifying bodies. Over the past decade in Colorado, Aaron has been actively involved in assisting farmers and ranchers in adopting contemporary agricultural practices. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in establishing a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing similar agricultural issues.

After thorough contemplation and discussions with his partner, Kari, Aaron recognized an opportunity amid the booming Colorado housing market. Returning to his roots, he decided to once again create with his hands – this time, helping others navigate the nuances of 'Mountain Time' construction by working with the clients, not against them.

Aaron started by taking bids on small projects, assisting with tile jobs, kitchen remodels, and more. Presently, he channels his entire energy into assisting local families, as well as those with second homes or short-term mountain rentals, in achieving their dreams of revitalizing and updating their living spaces and managing a Colorado based non-profit aimed at supporting farmers and ranchers looking to adopt modern agricultural practices in commercial agriculture.
